Schlage Linking Process (PIM)

 

Things you will need:

  1. 1 to 16 AD-400’s with batteries
  2. 1-PIM400-485-RSI with power supply
  3. HHD (Hand Held Device)/SUS with the HDD to USB cable
  4. 16 stickers labeled 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15

 

Process:

  1. First, place a label (from item 4 above) on each of the 16 AD-400’s. This is the most important step if you are linking up multiple AD-400s.
  2. Power the PIM400-485-RSI and all 16 AD-400’s.
  3. Launch Schlage Utility Software (SUS) on the HHD (Hand Held Device) and log in as Manager.
  4. Connect the HHD/SUS to the PIM400-485-RSI.
  5. Couple the HHD/SUS to the PIM400-485-RSI:
    1. On the PIM400-485-RSI, hold down the link 1 (leftmost) button while pressing the link 2 (right-most) button 3 times fast.  The RX/TX leds should start alternating blinking in a slower pattern that when just the HHD/SUS is connected.
    2. On the HHD/SUS find the “couple to PIM” menu item (I’m not sure that is the exact label but it is on the same screen that you choose firmware updates).
    3. Select “no” when the HHS/SUS asks if you want to change the password.
    4. The HHD/SUS should show a dialog box indicating that the HHD/SUS and PIM400 have been coupled.
  6. On the HHD/SUS, select PIM Properties, then select the link tab.
  7. Select which AD-400 you want to link (0-15) and click on the link button (two LED’s on the PIM400-485-RSI near the link1 and link2 buttons should start flashing red and green).
  8. Go to the AD-400 you want to link.
  9. Hold down the inside lever to activate the request to exit sensor.
  10. While continuing to hold the inside lever down, present a card. You should hear a beep.
  11. Keep holding the inside lever down until the LEDs on the reader start to blink.
  12. Release the inside lever. You should start to see a LED light show (hopefully, mostly–if not al–Green flashes).
  13. At the end of linking, if successful the reader beeper will beep out the RF channel number: 1-10 beeps
  14. The linking of this AD-400 is complete, repeat steps 6-13 for the remaining AD-400’s.
